City of Rockingham

Can't fix a broken, ugly and dangerous wall on Warnbro Sound avenue. The wall is endangering it's residents, it's endangering our property and it's lowering our house prices and the City of Rockingham refuse to do anything about it

I wanted to give 5 black stars.I spend hours to speak with the council without any results. They started the roadwork in Elantra Drive last December. Without finish the work after cup of days roadwork people stoped to work without finishing the job. Children cross the busy road every day going to school. It is very dangerous to cross the road without the lines.The alloways are dirty. The tree branches are over the footpath in Woodbridge Drive.The dogs run unsupervised in the park. No restriction sign about dogs in the park at the corner of Elanora Dr and Woodbridge Dr.The shire rates are getting more expensive but people live in Woodbridge Estate are treated as second class citizens.

As far as councils go it doesn't get much worse. This local council decided a few years ago to roll out the three bin program, only problem is the household waste bin is tiny and the green waste bin has been on hold for 2 years. Im in a household with 5 people and we regularly run out of bin space, the councils solution for us was buy another bin at $229 what a joke. In the meantime I regularly see Barry Samuels having three hour lunches at various restaurants on the foreshore, Im glad to see my taxes going to such a worthwhile cause. Thanks for nothing you incompetent, corrupt idiots. !

The rubbish bins along one side of my street were not emptied on the prescribed day and so I telephoned the City of Rockingham to enquire whether my neighbours and myself would have to wait another week or whether it might still be done this week. The Customer Services Officer I spoke to (Rebecca) said that she would organise for the bins to be emptied today. Thanks Rebecca; you were polite and helpful and your efforts are appreciated.

The explosion of graffiti in Rockingham is disgraceful.What happened to the linked police data base that literally wiped out ugly tagging.Does council not want to budget for that service?The place resembles the Bronx. No purpose in Christmas lights,promoting tourism by the beach cup, summer series etc.. when the foreshore looks like a slum. Even the Beach Rock IGA has been targeted.Shame on you Mayor and your associates.Look after your city, whatever it takes.We the residents want to feel proud of our area.

These people charge 7% interest on late payments. Interest rates in wider society - like banks - is about 2%. So, it's fair to say rockingham council charge over the odds for late payments. And when its remembered customers can't take their business elsewhere, it amounts to extortion.I get it. They want money. So it's hard to understand why they couldn't process my rates payment when I turned up in person.I am tempted to wonder if they wouldn't accept my money because they want my rates to be overdue in order to pocket the 7% interest.Money for jam. They don't accept money and then charge interest because it isn't paid.

Looking into planning permissions to build onto our house and wanted to know of the process and restrictions.Was able to talk to the construction area straight away and he was able to answer all questions straight away while giving advice on steps to proceed. Extremely helpful for the planning stage.

I forgot to take my green bin all the way to the verge for todays collection. I was distracted at the time and it was sitting about three metres from the kerb. The truck driver still stopped and got out of the truck. Rolled the green bin to his truck and emptied it for me. What a very nice person. Thank you.
